Brandon Sagraves is an amateur mixed martial artist training and competing out of Wisconsin. On November 2nd he will be stepping into the cage for the 14th time in his career and will be taking on Cody Linne at PURE FC 15 in Milwaukee, WI at the Miller High Life Theatre. ENDO Athletics will be sponsoring Sagraves for the fight and recently was able to catch up with him before his upcoming mma bout:
EA: How were you introduced to martial arts?
Sagraves: I started martial arts back in grade school I was picked on and bullied as a kid for my size so I started teaching myself Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and any other form of grappling that interested me and taught other kids in my area to be able to learn and grow.
EA: What made you want to jump into MMA?
Sagraves: I jumped in MMA because at the time I wanted to be able to test my jiu jitsu in live competition and to be able to prove that I can use Jiu-Jitsu effectively in MMA!
EA: Your coming off of a few losses, what have you done differently to pick up the W in this bout?
Sagraves: I've come off a few losses from some top level competition. This fight I've worked on a lot of extra strength and conditioning since I'm moving up in weight and as for technique-wise, I've reverted back to my old style to go back to refine my technique! I'm focused and busting my ass for this win!
EA: What can you tell us about your opponent Cody Linne?
Sagraves: Cody is very exciting and is a very talented grappler himself.
EA: What can Cody expect from you in this fight?
Sagraves: Well, with Cody Style I assumed he would want the fight to go to the ground. My plan is to pressure him no matter where the fight goes!
EA: What is your next big goal?
Sagraves: My biggest goal is to get back in the title run at 115 or 125 at Caged Aggression or Pure FC and go to pro after!!
